Below, we inform you about which personal data is processed when you use the website freiwillig.hamburg, for what purposes this is done, and what rights you have regarding data protection. Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. Processing of personal data occurs when such data is collected, stored, used, transmitted, or deleted. Processing is generally only carried out for the purpose for which the data was collected, unless further processing is permitted by law or by your consent. Below, we inform you about which personal data we collect and what we do with this data. We also inform you about your rights regarding data protection and whom you can contact in this regard. Depending on the processing operation, processing is carried out either by the Social Ministry or by the respective volunteer agency. * * * ## 2\. Data Processing in the Technical Operation of the Website When you visit the website freiwillig.hamburg, only technically necessary communication data between your browser and the web server of freiwillig.hamburg is processed. This includes: - IP address of the requesting device, - Date and time of the request, - Protocol version used (e.g., HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2), - HTTP method, - Status code of the server response, - Amount of data transferred, - User agent (browser type, operating system, device model if applicable), - Referrer (previously visited page, if transmitted), - Accept header (e.g., language settings), - Requested resource (e.g., /index.html, /images/logo.png). For statistical analysis of website usage, a GDPR-compliant tracking tool (Umami) is used. This tool is hosted by the commissioned technical service provider nussknagger GmbH (processor); the server is located in Germany. Data Processing When Using the Contact Form If you contact a volunteer agency via the contact form, the data you enter will only be processed with your explicit consent. This includes: - Name, - E-mail address, - Telephone number, - Message text, - Connection to the chosen volunteering opportunity. The data is transmitted using the e-mail delivery service Resend Inc. – a subcontractor of the processor with headquarters in the USA – to the respective responsible volunteer agency. The data is stored for a period of 7 days on a server within the European Union (Ireland) and then deleted. **Responsible authority:** For the processing of personal data in the context of using the contact form (i.e., temporary storage and transmission to the responsible volunteer agency via the above-mentioned delivery service), the responsible authority is: Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg Ministry for Health, Social Affairs and Integration Department for Integration Adolph-Schönfelder-Straße 5, 22083 Hamburg E-mail: [engagement@soziales.hamburg.de](mailto:engagement@soziales.hamburg.de) The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). For data processing after receipt of your request by the responsible volunteer agency, only the latter is responsible (see section 5). * * * ## 4\. Data Processing for Editorial Content and Volunteering Opportunities Personal data (e.g. details of contact persons) is processed where necessary for the presentation of volunteering opportunities and editorial context. This does not concern personal data of website visitors. **Responsible authority:** For the processing of personal data for editorial content and volunteering opportunities, the respective responsible volunteer agency is responsible. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent) and/or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract). * * * ## 5\. Data Processing in the Database of the Volunteer Agencies To manage volunteering opportunities, the volunteer agencies use the database software Freinet Online from Lachnit & Rademacher GmbH, based in Germany. In using this database, personal data is processed as far as necessary for processing expressions of interest from the contact form, matching with the available offers, and making contact. Only the personal data that the volunteer agencies receive from you as clients in the course of their advisory and placement activities is processed. This database is used exclusively for the placement of charitable, voluntary, and unpaid engagement. Use for the placement of paid activities, employments, or commercial offers is excluded.
