Who we are
There are seven volunteer agencies in Hamburg – and each one can help you find the right volunteer position for you.
- Because we are based in the local districts, we know exactly where support is needed. This means that your local volunteer agency can help you find the right volunteer position without any detours.
- In the Hamburg State Working Group of Volunteer Agencies (lagfa), we develop quality standards and strengthen volunteering in Hamburg.
- Together with the AKTIVOLI-Landesnetzwerk Hamburg e. V., we promote exchange, cooperation and new ideas from young initiatives, established associations, foundations and public welfare organisations.
- Our work is funded by the Hamburg Ministry of Social Affairs, is non-profit and independent of any political party or religious denomination.
Our mission
We make volunteering in Hamburg accessible to everyone – so that every person has the opportunity to make a difference. We achieve this through the personal support of local volunteer agencies.
Through public relations work, we highlight the power and passion behind volunteering and are committed to ensuring that volunteering receives the recognition it deserves.
We promote exchange and cooperation and represent the interests of volunteers in politics and administration.
This creates a Hamburg in which community grows, cohesion becomes tangible – and the good feeling of making the world a better place together.
